Team Building · India's Sport-First Approach

Team building that
actually builds teams.

Workshops don't build trust. Trust falls don't build trust. Sport — real competition, real pressure, real consequence — builds trust. That's the entire premise of FORJ.

The Evidence

The problem with most
team building activities.

India's HR teams spend an estimated ₹8,000 crore per year on team building activities. Most of it produces no measurable behavioural change. Cooking classes are fun. Escape rooms are interesting. Paintball is noisy. But none of them create the conditions that actually change how people work together.

Behavioural science is clear: trust between people is built through shared adversity, not shared comfort. You don't trust someone because you cooked pasta with them. You trust them because you saw how they behaved under pressure — and they came through.

Sport creates that adversity by design. A cricket match in the last over. A penalty shootout. A relay race you're losing. These are real pressure moments — and they reveal character, build respect, and create connections that survive Monday morning.

Frequently Asked

The research consistently points to sport-based activities as the most effective team building format — specifically formats that involve real competition, mixed-team structures, and recurring participation. Corporate cricket and football score highest in FORJ's own post-event data (89% report feeling more connected, 41% report better cross-team collaboration within 30 days). Among one-day formats, a Multi-Sport Corporate Olympics gives the widest participation. For long-term cultural impact, a Corporate Sports League (6–12 weeks) has the strongest data.

Professional corporate team building in India costs between ₹1,500 and ₹6,000 per person depending on quality, format, and city. Budget events (₹1,500–₹2,500/head) include a single sport at a standard venue. Mid-range events (₹2,500–₹3,800/head) include premium venues, custom kits, catering, and photo coverage. Premium events (₹3,800–₹6,000/head) include full production, branded kit, videography, and a dedicated event director. All FORJ proposals are fully itemised.

FORJ tracks four metrics across a 90-day window after each event: Day-of NPS (immediate enjoyment and connection scores), 30-day cross-team meeting rate (did people from different departments actually start working together more?), 90-day attrition delta (do teams with FORJ events show lower attrition?), and 6-month re-participation intent (did people want to do it again?). These metrics are available to clients on request.

Corporate cricket works for teams of 50–2,000. For under 100 people, we run box cricket (pairs format) on a single ground. For 100–300 people, we run 6–12 simultaneous T10 matches. For 300–2,000 people, we design a full multi-ground Olympic format with cricket as the anchor sport. Every format is designed so that all employees play — not just the good cricketers.

In-person sport is always FORJ's preferred format — nothing replaces the physical experience. However, we can organise regional events (Delhi NCR + Mumbai + Bangalore simultaneously) that then converge at a national finals event. This works well for large distributed companies who want to build cross-location culture. Speak to us about multi-city formats.

For events up to 150 people, 2–3 weeks advance notice is typically sufficient. For events of 300–1,000 people, 4–6 weeks is recommended (venue availability is the constraint). For events of 1,000+, 8+ weeks is ideal. We can sometimes accommodate urgent requests — fill in the form and we'll tell you what's possible within 24 hours.
